Nomaswazi Mlaba

Ms Nomaswazi Mlaba holds a Degree in Social Science and a Teacher’s Diploma from Unizulu. Her post graduate studies include Honours Degree in Linguistics and Post Grad Diploma in Personnel Management (UKZN). She further attained a Diploma in Management Advancement Programme from Wits. Other academic studies include EASL from Christ Church College in the UK, Certificate in Women in Development from Amsterdam University.

Ms Mlaba’s career started at Mqhawe High School as an Educator where she was voted the best Teacher in the Region and was awarded a Scholarship to go and study in the UK. Her capabilities were noted by Prof Chick from UKZN and was then recruited to join ELET, an NGO whose mission was to develop teachers through the introduction of Interactive approach towards teaching. Part of the roles at ELET was to lecture at the Cambridge University Syndicate Classes.

Ms Mlaba also held a position of Executive Director for Netcom S.A. where she worked in partnership with organizations such as: USAID, NDA, Unicef, British Council, Oxfam Australia and Bristol Myers Squibb. She also was key in the establishment of the 1st ARV community clinic called iThembalabantu Clinic. She has also served as the Chairperson of Soweto Black Management Forum
